Open Events

College Open Events are your chance to discover what’s on offer at Wakefield College. You will have the opportunity to talk to students and to our tutors, to take a good look at the superb facilities we have available for the study of a wide range of full-time and part-time courses, and to find a course to suit you.

Exhibition of Full-time Courses
This event is aimed at young people who are trying to decide what to do when they leave school, or who may have already left school, but want to return to learning. It is a chance for you and your family to discuss with College staff the full-time opportunities for study which are available here at Wakefield College, across all our Campuses.

If you are particularly interested in Advanced Level study, tutors from our Sixth Form will be able to discuss with you our wide range of AS/A level and other Advanced level study options. Our A level results have improved year on year and last year were above the national average.

You will also be able to talk to tutors about apprenticeships and entry to employment courses, about our wide range of vocational programmes which are offered at all levels, from pre-entry level for students who have had difficulty in learning at school, through to advanced level, and about the opportunities which are available for progression through to Higher Education, here at Wakefield College.

Open Evenings
Open Evenings are held at each of our three main Campuses and are for all ages and abilities, through to those people wanting to take a degree level, or professional qualification.

Our Open Evenings are your opportunity to take a good look at the facilities we can offer for the study of the subjects you may be interested in. Whether you want to update your skills, enhance your career opportunities by obtaining a qualification or change direction completely, if you want to study for pleasure, take a look at the training we offer to businesses, or if you are a young person wanting to look at the opportunities available to you, all areas of each Campus will be open for you to look around.

There will be demonstrations from various subject areas and a chance to talk to students who are currently studying at the College, and also to the tutors if you wish.
