The 2008 Graduation Day

You’ve worked hard, attending lectures, preparing presentations, burning the midnight oil to complete assignments, revise for exams, or work on your portfolio. We hope you’ve played hard too, making lasting friendships and perhaps taking up new interests. Receiving your Degree, Diploma or Certificate is the crowning moment of your Higher Education experience and we want your Graduation Ceremony to be something you’ll always remember.

The Graduation Ceremony is one of the most important days in the University Centre’s calendar - a celebration of our students’ achievements, both academically and personally, during their time with us.

A highlight of the day is the procession of College staff, Governors, guests and graduates, which leaves the City Centre Campus on Margaret Street, and, headed by the Mayor and Mayoress of Wakefield, parades along Wood Street to the City’s Cathedral for the Ceremony itself. Here, Graduates are presented with their certificates by a guest speaker. This year the guest speaker is Wakefield MP Mary Creagh.

The Ceremony is followed by an informal reception, back at the City Centre Campus, where you can relax and celebrate your success with family and friends.

It's a wonderful occasion, and one which we're sure you won't want to miss. Enjoy your special day - you’ve earned it.
