The guest speaker at this year’s Award Ceremony was Sarah Redgwick, a former Wakefield College student and now firmly on the road to success as one of the UK’s top young sopranos. Here she gives an insight into her time at Wakefield College and her career and achievements to date, while encouraging students to aim high and stop at nothing to achieve their ambitions in life.
Sarah graduated with first class honours from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama (GSMD) and completed her studies in the postgraduate Opera course. She was the winner of the GSMD Gold Medal for singers and her many other prizes and scholarships include The Countess of Munster, Wingate, the Sybil Tutton, Madeleine Finden and the Haberdashers Company.
