Travel & Tourism students Fuerteventura residential

BTEC First Diploma Travel and Tourism students just came back from a very sunny residential in Corralejo, Fuerteventura, Canary Islands.

To succeed with their studies, students have to organise, book, participate and evaluate a holiday destination. Within that concept, they also have to create a day by day itinerary including activities and excursions.

This year, students opted for the following excursions and activities:

  • Glass bottom boat trip up to the reefs of Los Lobos Island
  • Day excursion with Fred Olsen Express Ferry to Lanzerote’s Playa Blanca
  • Day excursion to Puerto del Carmen
  • Visit to the local market
  • Snorkelling in shallow waters
  • Guided visit of Corralejo
  • Visit to Corralejo’s National Park
  • Day excursion to Fuerteventura’s capital Puerto del Rosario

Students had a good time organising and participating in their own organised trip. Feedback was very good and many did not want to return to the grim local weather after a week in high 20s!

The group was supervised by BTEC National First Diploma course co-ordinator Caroline Lamb. The group was accommodated in the beautiful Oasis Dunas Resort which provided half board breakfast and diner.

Date: 22th February, 2008
