Experts celebrate success
Staff and students from Wakefield College were
celebrating achieving the advanced ECDL (European Computer
Driving licence) Expert certificate at an Awards evening
at the Whitwood campus last week.

Last week we held a celebration event for staff
and students who had gained the ECDL Expert certificate.
Fifteen (of 24) were able to attend. |
The 24 staff and students were presented with certificates
after having successfully completed 4 ECDL Advanced
courses. To qualify for this new certificate students
had to pass 4 exams, testing their ability to use advanced
components of computer software, including Databases,
Presentations, Spreadsheets and Word Processing.
Most of the students have completed the advanced courses
within 2 years. Some had been complete beginners a few
years earlier when they had started on Information Technology
courses for beginners. One student said, “I have
come a very long way from the foundation level courses
which gave me an excellent start”.
Having successfully achieved the Expert Certificate,
students qualified as Associate Members of the British
Computer Society which entitles them to use the letters
AMBCS after their names and enjoy membership benefits.
