Summer Festival of dance, music and theatre
Wakefield College is proud to announce details of this year’s festival of dance, music and theatre. The showcase event is a culmination of work done by the College’s Performing Arts department and is put together in collaboration with the Theatre Royal Wakefield. This year’s event runs from the 4th - 18th of June, with performances taking place at the Theatre Royal Wakefield and the Wakefield Arts Centre at the Thornes Park Campus.
Students from a wide variety of courses including National Diploma Dance, First Diploma Performing Arts, National Diploma Acting and Higher National Diploma Theatre will take part in over ten performances.
Programme Area Manager, Tina Shuker commented: “This year’s Festival of Dance, Music and Theatre once again promises to be another successful event. We have a mixture of original dance performances based on a range of stimuli, theatre classics, as well as original work based on different genres and a two day outdoor music festival. I’m sure there will be something here for everyone. Huge amounts of time and effort go into putting something this big together. It is an excellent platform to showcase the talent and skills of the students and is a testament to the hard work and commitment of the students and staff involved, who have helped put this year’s event together.”
