College wins business grant
Wakefield College has teamed up with Doncaster and Sheffield Colleges to help share knowledge and expertise with local business from the manufacturing and engineering industries after scooping a major business grant.
The colleges, who will be working jointly across South and West Yorkshire, are just three of 14 colleges nationwide who have been awarded the £25,000 grant by the vocational education think tank the New Engineering Foundation (NEF).
Wakefield College Lecturer Sarah Dekin said, “This is an exciting new venture, working in collaboration across 2 Yorkshire regions. This project will allow best practice to be produced and used across the three colleges. The project will be very challenging and enable us to share knowledge and skills with business organisations and also ensure that lecturing staff are up to date and innovative within the delivery. There is a bigger challenge at the moment, due to the external environment that we are all facing, which will develop a better future for business organisations and the employment market.”
