Performing arts students learn from the experts
Students from across the Performing Arts and Music Department at Wakefield College came together recently with international professionals in dance, drama and music to participate in a range of workshops, as part of a student development programme.

The students had the opportunity to study Stage Combat, Bhangra Dance, Street Dance, Commedia Dell' Arte and Rhythm and Blues, in workshops run by experts who have years of experience in their respective fields, and have worked with many West End directors and artists, such as Take That and Inspiral Carpets.
This was the second such development day this year and proved a great success, with students thoroughly enjoying the experience and learning new skills which will help them further develop their knowledge of their chosen industry.
Programme Area Manager for Performing Arts Marie Dalton said, “It was a fantastic day and a sheer joy to see the students having such a good time. This process is part of our commitment to ensuring that our students develop a wide range of skills and experience, which they can use when they leave us to further their careers.”
