Free IT courses on offer

Wakefield College’s commercial training arm Services to Business is offering a number of free Level 1 IT courses for employees working in Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs) within Yorkshire and Humber.

Units covered can include word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, Internet and presentations as well the option of bespoke training in either order processing, stock control or customer records. The offer is open to those over the age of 25 with the training taking place in the workplace.

Services to Business Market Development Manager Janet Hilton said, “This is a great opportunity to gain a valuable qualification for free. With IT being such an integral part of almost all organisations, the training will offer huge benefits to both the employer and their employees.”

The free training is part of the IT Skills Development in the Workplace Project and is being funded by the European Social Fund in conjunction with Learning and Skills Council Yorkshire and Humber.
