Award winners visit skillsXchange
Representatives from LINPAC Packaging - award winners at the recently held Wakefield District Business Awards - visited Wakefield College’s skillsXchange at Glasshoughton, where they were greeted by the College’s Principal Sue Griffiths.

LINPAC Packaging based locally in Knottingley, Featherstone and Allerton Bywater, scooped the People Make Performance Award sponsored by Wakefield College at a glittering ceremony held at the Cedar Court Hotel in Wakefield recently
. Sue along with the College’s Deputy Principal John Foster, welcomed LINPAC Vice President of Operations Chris Horton and Regional Improvement Leader Andy Walker. After an informal lunch both were given a guided tour of the skillsXchange including visits to its Construction, Engineering and Motor Vehicle facilities.
Chris Horton of LINPAC Packaging said: “Training and people development are at the heart of our business so being recognised in this way is a tremendous accolade. It was great to meet senior management of Wakefield College at the state-of-the art skillsXchange. It truly is an awe inspiring place and a beacon of knowledge and innovation which will inspire people to learn for years to come.”
College Principal Sue Griffiths added: “Training and people development are key commitments that both our organisations share and we were delighted that both Andy and Chris could join us at the skillsXchange. As sponsors of this Award we wanted to show them around our wonderful new Campus and also discuss ways for continuing to work together in the future.”
