College shortlisted for prestgious awards
It was smiles all over at Wakefield College this week following news that the College had been nominated for not one, but two prestigious national awards.
The College has been shortlisted for the Learning and Skills Council’s (LSC) Award for Equality and Diversity and for the Becta Award for Excellence in the Use of Technology.
In bidding for the awards, the College highlighted the way in which it approaches these areas strategically and ensures that they are woven into the fabric of the organisation.
Sue Slassor, the College’s Director of Quality and Performance said, "When you consider that colleges right across the country are competing for these awards, it’s a real achievement to be shortlisted for two! We're very much looking forward to the assessors’ visits in the next couple of weeks as it will give us an opportunity to showcase our excellent practice."
Assessors will be visiting the College over the coming weeks to explore these areas in more detail and make a final judgement. Award winners will be announced soon.
