Following a comprehensive selection process involving Governors, staff, students and external stakeholders, Wakefield College has appointed Samantha Wright to the post of Principal.

Samantha will join the College in March from The Manchester College where she has been Vice Principal, with responsibility for developing the College’s apprenticeship programme, remodeling its curriculum and its 14-19 agenda. Chair of Governors, Cath Orange, said “Governors are delighted that Samantha has agreed to lead the College and secure its future success. Finding somebody to build upon the fantastic achievements of Sue Griffiths has been foremost in our mind and we are very pleased that Samantha has accepted the challenge”. Current College Principal, Sue Griffiths, is due to retire at the end of February 2011.
