A Levels

Our Sixth Form provides a stepping stone between school and university and prepares you for further study or employment

As a Heart of Yorkshire Education Group Sixth Form student, you’ll benefit from excellent facilities, including our modern library, the communal and informal learning spaces, coffee shop, and loads of course-specific workshops, teaching areas and resources.

Why Choose to study A Levels at the Heart of Yorkshire Education Group?

The atmosphere at College is very different from school. We do this by creating an adult learning environment where students are able to thrive and be independent.

Many of our students comment on the positive attitude of staff and the mutual respect they develop from working together, and the positive impact this has on their learning.

We base our A Level programmes on facilitating and stimulating subjects, ensuring you have the skills and knowledge which are in demand by universities and employers. This, as well as our wrap-around support for our students, has led many of them to secure places at a range of Russell Group universities including Oxford and Cambridge, as well as on to prosperous careers.

Spend your time in dedicated teaching and social areas in our Harrison Building, part of the refurbished Wakefield City Campus, including a three-storey library for quiet study time and group work.

The LibraryPlus centre at the Wakefield City Campus spans over three floors.

Our Castleford Campus is fully equipped with specialist facilities for construction and engineering students.

The Radcliffe Building has brand new science labs where biology, chemistry and physics students will benefit from superbly equipped facilities.

Lightwaves offers extensive facilities for the study of construction, whilst sports students will have full use of a brand new gym, sports hall, fitness testing lab, therapy and massage suite, and sports pitches.

Our 1,500+ Sixth Form students come from many different backgrounds, schools and even countries.

160-seat professional theatre, studios and workshops for production design and construction in our Mechanics’ Theatre close to Wakefield City Campus.
