We learn all about the hospitality industry and have the opportunity to work in Gaskell’s, the College restaurant which is open to the public. It gives you a good understanding of all the different sections that make up the restaurant and the skills needed to run and manage it.

“We learn all about the hospitality industry and have the opportunity to work in Gaskell’s, the College restaurant which is open to the public. It gives you a good understanding of all the different sections that make up the restaurant and the skills needed to run and manage it.

“Everything about the course has been good. The highlight for me was going to Sweden on a work placement; I worked in a restaurant in the kitchen for three weeks, which was a very good experience.

“The course really prepares you for employment and teaches you everything you need to know. I’ve already secured a position as a chef in a restaurant for when I leave College.

“I would advise anyone who’s interested in this course to do it. You get to experience a lot of things like working abroad and it teaches you everything you need to know.”
