I knew I wanted to be a chef and after doing my research I chose Wakefield College because it offers such a wide range of courses and because past students told me that the training the College provides is outstanding.

From day one the tutors were very friendly, kind and helpful.  In my first year I qualified for a work placement in Dinard in France, where I worked in a traditional French kitchen for four weeks.  This was a mind-blowing experience and gave me a lot of pride and confidence in my ability as a young chef. The course has had so many highpoints, from catering at Nostell Priory, winning Catering Student of the Year 2013, to getting to the final of the Golden Apron Competition where I cooked alongside a Michelin starred chef.
