Health & Social Care students supports Children in Need

Press Release Charity Health & Social Care

Health and Social Care students from Wakefield College’s skillsXchange have helped in collectively raising more than £1000 for Children in Need by organising a number of activities. Across the College’s other campuses, students also took part in a sponsored silence, a three-hour aerobathon, cake stalls, leg waxing sessions and a car wash too.

Student Rosie Wakefield came up with a novel idea of a sponsored silence to raise some money for the popular BBC fundraising frenzy – by not talking all day. Her Tutor, Johanne Child, explained:” Rosie is a lovely student to teach and very popular. However, at times she can talk for England. It was her idea to do a sponsored silence and we all thought it was a fun way to raise money for such a worthwhile cause.”

Health and Social Care students wore pyjamas all day and helped raise money for the popular BBC fundraiser.
