X-Factor dream still alive for Sarah

Performing Arts Press Release

Sarah Watson.

A Wakefield College musical theatre student’s dream of a pop career remains alive after she eventually made it through to the next round of the X-Factor. Having initially not made it through at Bootcamp, Sarah was given the dream ticket to Miami after one of the contestants failed to get a travel visa to America.

Sarah now joins seven other girls all hoping to impress judge and former Destiny’s Child star Kelly Rowland to book a spot in the live shows. Sarah and the girls will also have to impress Kelly’s assistant, Academy award winning recording artist and actress Jennifer Hudson.

Sarah originally impressed the judges at her first audition in Manchester where she performed a version of Taylor Swift’s Love Story. Gary Barlow said: “Sarah, that was such a professional audition, it was magnificent, really good.”

Commenting on her surprise call-up, Sarah said: “I thought my participation in the competition was over after Bootcamp so I couldn’t believe it when I got the call. It’s going to be an amazing experience going to America and being in the company of a world-wide star like Kelly Rowland. There are some really talented girls who have made it through so the competition is going to be really fierce but I am going to give it my best shot.”

Viewers will be able to see how Sarah gets on this weekend on ITV as the competition reaches the Judges’ Houses.
