Stage and screen star visits Wakefield College

Star of stage and screen Norman Bowman took time out of performing with the likes of Jude Law to spend time with the College’s Performing Arts students this week. Norman shared the secrets of his success and gave tips on how to get ahead in the entertainment Industry when he visited the College’s Performing Arts venue, the Mechanics’ Theatre, Waterton Building.

Born in Arbroath, Norman Bowman graduated in musical theatre from the London Academy of Performing Arts. On stage he has featured in shows such as Les Miserables, The Pirates of Penzance, Masterclass and West Side Story. His TV and film credits include Mister Eleven, The Hessen Conspiracy and the BBC drama Holby City.

Performing Arts lecturer Paul Dale-Vickers said: “This was a great opportunity for our students to learn from someone so well respected. Norman has worked on some of the biggest shows in the West End and Broadway alongside some of the biggest names in the industry. The students learnt so much.”
