Level 3 bricklaying students showcasing some of their recent work

Level 3 learners from the College’s bricklaying course are nearing the end of their time at the College. The students, based at the Castleford Campus, have spent 3 years under the guidance of tutor Chris Mellars.

During this time the students mastered skills including building solid and cavity walls as well as learning about technical drawings, technology, health and safety and site procedures.

The students also had the opportunity to showcase their skills to visitors from Wakefield District Housing (WDH) recently by building a number of different structures. The visitors inspected the work and praised the quality and standard of work.

The students are now preparing to gain apprenticeships and move into the construction industry.
