Wakefield College staff and students who took part in the Somewhereto_FRAMED project

Talented photography students from Wakefield College recently showcased their work as part of the Somewhereto_FRAMED project – a UK-wide public art exhibition that showcases young artists in collaboration with local businesses.

12 students from the College’s popular Level 3 Extended Diploma in Photography course exhibited their work at venues across the city including Unity Works, Trinity Walk, Wakefield Museum, and the Artpad.

Course tutor Sarah Squires said: “It’s just so wonderful to see so many people appreciate the students’ hard work. Being a part of the exhibition and attending the closing event resulted in some fantastic opportunities for the students and exciting prospects for the future. I can’t wait to see how they progress.”

Student Nathan Hinchcliffe said: “The feeling of seeing your work up in a public place as part of an exhibition is one of pride! It really motivated me and I’m glad I didn’t pass up this opportunity.”

The College’s photography department is now busy preparing for the end-of-year Art Show where students from the College’s Art, Design, and Media department open their doors to the public and showcase their work. This year’s exhibition runs from the 22nd to the 26th June.
