Halfords Children’s University Bike Club Pilot Project

Children’s University is delighted to be developing an exciting partnership with Halfords to validate their in-store Bike Club activity in selected stores. We want to make sure we get it right for everyone involved and are proposing a pilot in the stores listed below on three Wednesdays in April: 9th, 16th and 23rd.

The main stores in your area are:

  • Dewsbury
  • Pontefract
  • Wakefield

What does Bike Club include?
The sessions last 1 hour, are free of charge and suitable for children aged 7-11. The sessions aim to:

  • improve skills and understanding of basic bike maintenance
  • demonstrate importance of bike maintenance in contributing to safer cycling
  • stimulate enthusiasm and confidence of young cyclists
  • promote contribution of cycling to health and fitness

How do children reserve a place?
Places must be booked using the on line booking system at www.Halfords.com/bikeclub Places are strictly limited and participants must bring their email confirmation with them in order to be able to take part. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult for the duration of the workshop.

What do I need to do next?
Please send the attached flyer to your schools, with a covering email detailing the locations of your nearest participating stores, and the contact details for your CU.
