The University Centre at Wakefield College is celebrating the results of the National Student Survey, released today, which puts them top of the class for overall student satisfaction for Higher Education courses in the Yorkshire and Humber region.

The results showed they have 91% Overall Student Satisfaction, the highest percentage for Higher Education facilities in the Yorkshire and Humber – beating other local Universities and Colleges, and putting them in joint first place.

Clare Hagerup, Director of Higher Education at Wakefield College University Centre, says she’s not surprised by the results, “We’re absolutely delighted with the results of the National Student Survey, it shows that our students are having positive experiences in our University Centre.

It’s yet more good news after our recent TEF Silver Award and QAA results. Our goal of “Rethinking University Education” is raising higher-level skills in the District, and with the opening this year of the Advanced Skills and Innovation Centre; the home of the University Centre and Business School, we’re going from strength to strength in opening up university-level education for all.”

The University Centre scored above the regional average for; the teaching on the course (92%), learning opportunities (90%), assessment and feedback (80%) academic support (89%), organisation and management (83%), learning community (88%), and overall satisfaction (91%).

The University Centre at Wakefield College was recently recognised for its teaching excellence after being given a Silver Award, by the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) panel, and received an excellent inspection from the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA).

The ASIC project has received £3.3M investment through the Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership (LEP) Growth Deal – a £1 billion package of investment to accelerate good growth and create jobs across Leeds City Region.
