Wakefield College is backing Theatre Royal Wakefield’s new Centre for Creativity after signing up as a sponsor on its new wall of fame. The sponsorship package will see the College join a host of other regional partners and individuals backing the drive to promote creative talent in the district.

Jason Pepper, Director of Finance and Resources at Wakefield College said: “The College and the Theatre Royal Wakefield have a shared vision of helping promote creativity and performing arts and we are delighted to be further enhancing our already strong partnership.

“It was a real pleasure to get a sneak peek of the fantastic new facility which I’m certain will help inspire the next generation of artists and performers.”

Jon Ingham, Head of Fundraising at Theatre Royal Wakefield said: “This is an excellent partnership for Wakefield it underlines the commitment to promote excellence in arts education by both organisations and highlights the priority that the Theatre places in opportunities for young people’s participation.”

The new partnership announced this week coincides with the launch of the College Summer Festival of dance, performance and music. Students from the College’s Performing Arts Department have spent months in rehearsals with this year’s line-up of shows including Spring Awakening, Confusions, Road, Dreamtime and Prideland, which is being performed at Theatre Royal Wakefield.
