Gaskell’s Restaurant, Wakefield College’s training restaurant, has been named the best restaurant in Wakefield by the Civic Society for the second year running at a glitzy awards ceremony that took place at Bishopgarth last week. The College were joint winners of the award with Red Chilli based in Kirkgate, Wakefield.

Catering students from College were given first-hand experience of working with the Armed Forces recently. Personnel from the Army demonstrated some of the skills required to work in the Forces and also spoke candidly about working in some of the most challenging environments around the world.

Wakefield College’s Hospitality & Tourism students just came back from a residential in Shanghai, China. The trip started on the famous Bund area where students were amazed by the Shanghai skyline. In the evening, the group took a boat trip on the river to see the evening illuminations throughout the city.
