Students from the Care and Early Years department at Wakefield College have produced a range of Christmas food hampers for those living in poverty and hunger across Wakefield. Students produced food parcels and wrapped them up in bright cellophane and wrapping paper as gifts for those who otherwise might go without at Christmas.

The Prince of Wales Hospice this week held their first Look Good Feel Better event. Look Good Feel Better (LGFB) is the only international cancer support charity that helps boost the physical well-being of women, men and young adults undergoing treatment. The event was supported by Beauty Therapy and Photography Students from Wakefield College as well as other professionals from the Hospice.

Hospitality & Catering Department receives professional equipment grant

Wakefield College is delighted to have received a generous £25,000 grant from The Savoy Educational Trust. The grant was awarded the to the College’s Hospitality and Catering department to fund professional cooking equipment in the award-winning student training restaurant, Gaskell’s Restaurant.
