New Harrison Building officially opened

Phase One of Wakefield College’s proposed redevelopment of its Margaret Street site reached completion this week as the new Harrison Building was officially opened. The £7.6 million build, which took a year to complete, will house dedicated Sixth Form learning spaces, a brand new library, café and Higher Education teaching spaces too.

Wakefield Children's University reached a significant landmark this week as 9 year old Grace Banks became 2000th member. Grace, a pupil at Havercroft Junior & Infant School, has benefited from the school becoming involved in the exciting initiative which provides learning opportunities for 5 - 14 year olds outside traditional school hours.

Wakefield College’s Sixth Form celebrated excellent Advanced Level results for 2011/12. Figures revealed on A Level Results Day showed that the overall A-level pass rate has increased to over 98% - exceeding 95% for the eighth year in succession.

College to open up Children’s University to all

Wakefield Childrens’ University, spearheaded by Wakefield College in conjunction with a number of partners, is part of a national organisation aimed at providing exciting out-of-school activities for 5 -14 year olds.
