The Accused 2017

Friday, 23 June, 2017

The Accused is a tense courtroom drama with a difference. The audience will act as the jury, as if they were in the Central Criminal Court at the Old Bailey. You will have to decide... Did Dr Sherwood murder his wife? Was Jennifer Mitchell his mistress? Which of his alibis should you believe? The choice will keep you on the edge of your seats, and at the end of the trial you will be invited to deliver your verdict of guilty or not guilty. Once you have made that decision, the play will continue - with one of two different endings, depending on your verdict. Only then will you finally discover the truth.

Arabian Nights 2017

Tuesday, 20 June, 2017

Arabian Nights It is the nuptial night of the new queen, Shahrazad. As with all those that have come before her, after becoming the bride of King Shahrayar she will be put to death at the rise of the sun. But she has a way out from her untimely death for she has an extraordinary talent – a talent for tantalising storytelling. With her mischievous imagination, the young queen spins a dazzling array of tales and characters. On her side are Ali Baba, Es-Sindibad the Sailor and Princess Parizade – adventurers in strange and magical worlds populated by giant beasts, talking birds, devilish ghouls and crafty thieves. But will her silver-tongued stories be enough to enchant her husband and save her life. A simple and delightfully inventive re-telling of the stories from the Arabian Nights (Royal Shakespeare Company version). This amateur production is presented by arrangement with Nick Hern Books.
