Musical Theatre students from the University Centre at Wakefield College have been busy in rehearsals recently preparing to showcase their talents when they perform ‘The Little Angel’ – a new piece written by their Musical Theatre lecturer Paul Dale-Vickers.

An exciting new course has received the seal of approval from the region’s digital and creative industries. The Level 3 Creative and Digital Industries diploma, to be delivered by Wakefield College, will prepare school leavers for a career in the creative, digital and IT (CDIT) sectors.

When the downtrodden beasts of Manor Farm oust the drunken farmer, all are awash in a collectivist zeal. Too soon, however, the pigs, who consider themselves superior in intelligence, succumb to the temptations of privilege and power. This powerful, fast-moving dramatisation of George Orwell’s iconic satire remains faithful to the spirit of the original novel. Written as a political fable, Animal Farm remains as pertinent and relevant today as when it was first published in 1945.

Wakefield College and the Wakefield Trinity Wildcats have signed a new joint agreement which will see the institutions working more closely together. The partnership will see talented young rugby players benefit from access to first-class coaching and at the same time take advantage of the College’s expertise in providing education and training.
