College celebrates Graduation Ceremony

A congregation of more than 500 gathered at Wakefield Cathedral last Saturday to see students from Wakefield College receive higher level qualifications at the annual Graduation Ceremony. This year’s guest speaker was Dave Pannell, former student and entrepreneur, who took the opportunity to praise the College for “producing some of the best, most employable graduates of any college in the country”.

NHS Staff from across the West Yorkshire region came together last week at Wakefield College to celebrate their success. Staff from NHS Yorkshire and Humber including those from Trusts in Bradford, Calderdale, Huddersfield and from Yorkshire Ambulance Service, gathered at the iconic Castleford Campus to celebrate successfully completing courses through the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM).

Higher Education students from Wakefield College have won two awards at the annual West Yorkshire Lifelong Learning Network (WYLLN) awards. John Heaton, 39, won the Learner Award in the category of Culture, Media and the Arts whilst Rebecca Mallinder, 20, picked up the Learner Award in the category of Leadership, Management, Innovation and Enterprise.

College students revamp Wildcats’ website

A team of web developers from a popular web design course at Wakefield College put their skills to the test after redesigning the Wakefield Wildcats’ website. The new website, which went live this week, was completed by students Tim Stringer, Greg Carrick and Sam Harris who have all recently successfully completed the Foundation Degree in Web Design at the College’s Thornes Park Campus.
