Proving once again to be one of the hottest tickets in town, the two night Upload Festival celebrates the best that Wakefield College music students have to offer, with a number of bands performing an extensive catalogue of styles from original music to classic songs which will rock the summer evenings.

Students on the Higher National Diploma in Music (Popular Music) course presented the Festive Fiddle at Warehouse 23 in Wakefield. Five bands took to the new refurbished venue as part of a College wide Xmas party.

On a cold December evening, students on the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Music (Performance) showcased their talents at The Hop in Wakefield. The performance was entitled Resident Easal and the music was inspired by the life and work of Edward Munch, Salvador Dali, Banksy, and Gerald Scarfe.

First published in 1633 during the reign of Charles I, John Ford’s incestuous love story is one of the most powerful and controversial plays ever written. It is a classic example of the way in which the tragic plays of this time questioned morality, saw love as a violent entity and highlighted corruption in the halls of power... not in fact, a million miles away from what is potent in today’s society.
