A talented Wakefield College beauty student has been named the best in the business after striking gold in a national competition. Sarah Greaves, 29, who studies on the Level 3 Nail Technicians course at the College’s Castleford Campus, won the gold award in the Nails Services category at the World Skills National Finals Event held at the NEC, Birmingham.

Students from Wakefield College’s Academy of Sporting Excellence (ASE) had further reasons to smile this week after two of them made it through to national trials for England. Oliver Holmes (Hockey) and Charlie Freeman (Football) successfully made it through regional trials in their respective sports and are now going up against the best college talent from across the country hoping to be chosen for the national side.

Wakefield College Rugby League Development Centre student Tom Helliwell came up trumps at the recent International Wheelchair Rugby League European Championships after helping England win the competition and finishing top scorer with a total of 102 points.
