Something to celebrate? Perhaps a birthday, exam success or a special anniversary? Why not meet your friends at Gaskell’s and enjoy fine food in a sophisticated but relaxed atmosphere.

Gaskell’s is Wakefield College’s fully licensed training restaurant operated by Hospitality students who are working towards NVQ and BTEC qualifications.

For our students it creates a realistic working environment in which to practise the skills they have learnt in the classroom. For members of the public it provides the opportunity to sample high quality dishes at moderate prices.

As a 50-cover establishment, Gaskell’s is happy to welcome parties, special conditions apply for groups of 8 or more. The Restaurant can be booked for private functions.

What’s cooking?
Generally the restaurant offers a variety of traditional 4-course table d’hôte menus. Also look out for our themed events, wine dinners and special nights. In the past we’ve asked our diners to loosen their belts for the Great British Pie Night and dust off their togas for the Roman Week.
