Wakefield College Principal
As a working mum, I’ve enjoyed the flexibility the College has offered me, which includes a generous holiday scheme, flexi-working and a great pension.
At Wakefield College our vision is to be an outstanding college at the heart of the Wakefield District. We currently employ approximately 780 staff across a range of roles, campus sites and business areas.
To support this we occasionally require temporary or immediate cover to supplement the delivery of our vast range of courses; this is in addition to our advertised job vacancies.
If you would like to send your Curriculum Vitae to the HR team for consideration of any temporary roles, such as lecturing, assessing, internal verifying, administration, learning support workers, communication support workers etc. we will add your details to our CV/talent pool for a period of six months and contact you if required.
If you are interested in working with us at Wakefield College, please be sure to submit an application directly through our on-line recruitment pages. In normal circumstances we do not consider agency supplied CVs for advertised vacancies.
Wakefield College is committed to safeguarding the welfare of all students. Advertised vacancies and temporary cover needs are subject to Wakefield College pre-recruitment vetting including an Enhanced Disclosure from the DBS. We aim to develop a workforce that reflects the diverse community we serve and positively encourage applications from all.
The Benefits of Working Here
It’s a calling and not a 9-5 job, it’s a privilege to attend college and failure is not an option. I try to redevelop students’ philosophies to get them to work hard. I get a good reaction as I’m an enthusiastic sort of person and they’re responsive to that! I talk to them, find out their problems and what they don’t understand.

Information for Agencies
Wakefield College generates a lot of interest and we receive many calls from Employment Agencies and Recruitment Advertising Agencies, although we do appreciate the interest you have shown in Wakefield College, our Policy, as approved by our Governors, states that we must recruit candidates ourselves wherever possible.
If, on the very rare occasion, we choose to use an Agency/Employment Businesses or Recruitment Advertising Agencies.
We would first go to our current providers or those listed on the Crescent Purchasing Consortium www.thecpc.ac.uk. We ask that you respect the relationships which we have built up with our current providers, with whom we would always work with.
You also need to be aware that our legal team review all terms of business before we enter into any agreements. We must therefore insist that you do not contact any Wakefield College employee directly as they have no authority to enter in to agreement with you. All recruitment queries and communication should be directed to email@example.com.
And finally... We want to have a good working relationship with you – and we understand you want the same and are trying to promote your business. However if we need your help we will contact you, we therefore do not accept cold calls or speculative emails.
Thank you for your understanding.
