Final Salary Pension Schemes

As a member of Wakefield College, you are entitled to membership of the relevant College Scheme. The details of each scheme are listed below:

Teachers' Pension Scheme

If you are a full-time member of the academic staff, you will be automatically be entered into the Teachers' Pension Scheme. If you do not wish to be a member of the Scheme you must complete a form to formally opt-out.

Access to Teachers' Pension Scheme (employer contributes 14.1%, employee contributes 6.4%). Learn more: www.teacherspensions.co.uk.

Local Government Pension Scheme

If you are a member of the Support Services, you are entitled to membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme. With the exception of casual/pool staff and staff employed on a fixed term contract for less than 3 months, all Support Staff will be automatically entered into the scheme. If you do not wish to be a member of the Scheme, you must complete a form to formally opt-out.

Access to West Yorkshire Pension Fund (employer contributes 12.3%, employee contributes on average 6.5%). Learn more: www.wypf.org.uk.

If you are a member of the casual/relief/pool staff, you must complete a form to opt in to the Pension Scheme.
