British music continues to be a global export success story

Music at Wakefield College

Our School of Popular Music has a rich mix of students and music interests and a strong reputation for developing highly successful, rounded musicians and industry professionals.

Career opportunities in the music industry extend well beyond performance. If you don’t see yourself as a performer, you may aspire to a career as a sound engineer, songwriter, producer, promoter, teacher, manager, backline technician, sound designer or composer.

Whatever your enthusiasm, it’ll be nurtured by working interactively with your fellow students with the guidance of tutors who are dedicated to enabling you to fulfil your potential.

Key Points
  • collaborative live music projects in and out of College
  • trips and visits
  • guest lectures from local and regional industry professionals
  • practical exploration of a range of industry-specific resources

My time at Wakefield College has been very rewarding and I’ve learnt more about equipment, live music, and the businesses and organisations around Wakefield.
