MORE than 550 Year 10 school pupils from six local schools descended onto Wakefield College’s Wakefield City and Castleford campuses last week to get an early taste of life as a College student. The students from Airedale Academy, Carleton Community High School, Kettlethorpe High School, St Wilfrid’s RC High School and Wakefield City Academy spent a whole day at the College trying out a range of taster sessions.

Students from Wakefield College were given a first-hand account of the Holocaust this week when survivor Marc Schatzberger visited to commemorate Holocaust Memorial Day. Marc delivered a talk to students on the Public Services, Law and Politics courses and took questions helping students gain a deeper understanding of the Holocaust.
