I like that The School of Popular Music is set in Thornes Park, it allows us a lot more space to practise without disturbing anyone, and it’s really nice to spend our free time in the park walking round or by the duck pond. The teachers are very knowledgeable and we recently had the chance to go to laser quest as a group.
My time at Wakefield College has been very rewarding and I’ve learnt more about equipment, live music, and the businesses and organisations around Wakefield. As part of the course we had to organise a gig at The Hop in Wakefield ensuring the equipment was delivered and we made a profit on the night. This gave us all real-life experience rather than just watching a tutor organise it all for us.
