Wakefield College’s Hospitality and Catering Department receives professional equipment grant

Wakefield College is delighted to have received a generous £25,000 grant from The Savoy Educational Trust.
The grant was awarded the to the College’s Hospitality and Catering department to fund professional cooking equipment in the award-winning student training restaurant, Gaskell’s Restaurant.
The new equipment will include ice cream and pasta-making machines, additional dining furniture, and a range of high quality glassware and crockery.
The Savoy Trust is a charitable organisation which aims to advance and develop education and training in the hospitality industry.
Principal Sam Wright said:
“We’re very proud of the real-world experience that our students gain in Gaskell’s restaurant, which prepares them well for their future careers. This grant will allow us to provide even better resources for our students and customers when Gaskell’s Restaurant moves to its new location in the fully refurbished former Registry of Deeds building. We’re very grateful to the Savoy Trust for this grant and I’d like to thank them on behalf of our students and staff.”
