Wakefield College students stand with their Christmas hampers

Students from the Care and Early Years department at Wakefield College have produced a range of Christmas food hampers for those living in poverty and hunger across Wakefield. Students produced food parcels and wrapped them up in bright cellophane and wrapping paper as gifts for those who otherwise might go without at Christmas.

Hayley Anderson, Curriculum Development Manager for Care and Early Years, said: “The Care and Early Years department have once again made a positive contribution to the Community Awareness Programme appeal (CAP). Students have worked extremely hard to produce Christmas food hampers for this worthy cause. The Christmas food hampers will be distributed this week to Sure Start Centres across Wakefield District. We’re really proud to support this worthy cause in the knowledge that the food contributions go straight to the families and children in need.”
