Last month, James, a CMI Team Leader Level 3 apprentice was awarded an official Award of Excellence certificate of commendation from the Chartered Management Institute. Lee Lyons, Assessor and Trainer for Apprenticeships and Commercial Training at Wakefield College nominated James to acknowledge his achievements in his apprenticeship at Wakefield Council.
As a CMI Award of Excellence winner, James is now automatically nominated for the CMI Regional Apprentice of the Year. To support and confirm this nomination he needed to tell them more about his experience with CMI.
He wrote “Undoubtedly, I feel that being an apprentice with CMI has supported both my professional development and employability. I have been able to use the knowledge and skills I have attained throughout the apprenticeship to not only support and mentor my colleagues but also to lead them through training sessions and project work.”
“I have positively promoted the apprenticeship to others who have expressed an interest as I was exposed to scenarios and opportunities that I may not have ordinarily been able to which I feel has strongly contributed to my own personal development and career advancement.”
“I would strongly recommend a CMI course to anyone wanting to increase their knowledge and skills base in the area of management and leadership. If you are committed to your own personal and professional development then the CMI course will give you all the necessary tools you need to learn, develop and go on to be a future leader within your own or external organisation with the qualification been nationally recognised.”
The CMI Awards of Excellence recognise the outstanding achievements of individuals who are making a positive impact on their course, in the workplace, or other management and leadership settings to advance themselves, their organisation and the community around them. Regional Judging will take place in October and regional winners are then considered for the National Award which will be presented at the CMI Partner Conference in Spring 2021.
