Advice for applicants and offer holders applying to the University Centre, Wakefield College
If you are planning to study with us in September, please be reassured that your application will continue to be processed. Although we will not be able to conduct a face-to-face interview or audition at the current time, we will be in touch very shortly advising you of what our alternative arrangements will be. We are committed to ensuring all potential students are supported through their application journey and we will work with you to secure your place at the University Centre.
If you have already submitted your application and received a conditional offer from us, we would like to reassure you that we will honour that offer and not be following the lead of a number of universities and colleges who have reportedly been making unconditional offers, or changing the terms of their original offer, a practice which, the Government and the Office for Students have announced, is inappropriate and not in a student’s best interests and therefore must stop. At the University Centre at Wakefield College, we follow the guidelines from the Government, the Office for Students and Ofqual.
If you have applied through UCAS then please pay attention to all the information they are sending out to you, but do not hesitate to contact us if you have questions about the information you have been sent, and we will be happy to help. Should you have any questions regarding your application, please email: email@example.com
Student Finance Guidance for prospective students
Student Loans Company issues guidance for prospective students and answers to common questions related to the COVID-19 outbreak. Below is the most up-to-date-information
Can I still apply for student finance?
New and existing students in England and Wales can continue to apply for student finance and we will continue to process any applications that have been received as quickly as we can.
Will my application be delayed?
Although these are extraordinary circumstances, we will continue to process any applications that have been received as quickly as we can. We do not currently expect any delays.
Can I still contact you if I need help?
Following the most recent Government guidance, we are having to change the way we deliver our services. To enable us to do this as quickly as possible, we are closing our customer contact centres temporarily. This means you won’t be able to contact us via phone or social media.
We will continue to update you on this and apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
What if I cannot post the evidence you've asked for because I’m self-isolating or unwell?
At the moment we’ll still need evidence to be able to complete your application, but we do not want you to put yourself or others at risk to send us evidence.
These are extraordinary circumstances. We are currently working with the Government to ensure that we do everything we can to best help students prepare for and progress to the next stage of their education, which includes providing evidence for student finance.
We will provide further advice on evidence as soon as possible. Please check this link for updates: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/guidance-for-prospective-students.
